Cotton Factory Revolution Weekend

By June 23, 2017blog

Oh wow, what a fabulous weekend we have just had! Two whole days filled with amazing speakers, STUNNING quilts, creative people as far as the eye can see and lots of giggling and catching up!

Alison from Cotton Factory in Ballarat had the inaugural weekend (Cotton Factory Unplugged) last year and this year (Cotton Factory Revolution) was even better! This was the corner with quilts from Sharon’s new book Quilting on the Go – English Paper Piecing (Read all about it here)

The venue was fab – light, airy, HUGE and space for us all to spread out and catch up. I took along my #girtbyseaquilt EPP and got some great tips from the queen of EPP herself, Sharon! (thankyou!!)

We were sitting at the front table so we got to see all the amazing quilts that people brought in (speakers and participants alike!). It did mean that I helped hold up lots of the quilts and didn’t get to take that many pictures though! Here are a few of the stunners I did manage to get.

Oh this made me want to put this one on my wish to do list! I must get this pattern!! Or maybe I should just wing it….

I was so lucky and my raffle tickets got drawn out quite a bit over the weekend! I won a choice of new books (I picked Striking Strip Quilts), Emma Jean Jansen’s latest pattern Bronte’s Star and one of Cotton Factory Emporium’s bobbin holders! (it holds more than just bobbins!!)

We also had a lovely goodie box on the table waiting for us when we arrived – patterns, a mini of True Blue fabric and a unique Cotton Factory embroidery pattern!

And THEN we had the swap gifts! I chose a package that felt interesting and wow, did I get the jackpot! Thanks Marina! (my new best friend!)

I took pics of people… but you know how everyone seems to be pulling a face or closing their eyes?? hmmm…. let’s just say that everyone was laughing hard and having a great time but there aren’t any pics to prove it!

Then we had time for show and tell… and wow was there some seriously TALENTED people in the room!!

Thanks Alison for organising an amazing event full of like minded crafty people from all around the country! Can’t wait for next year 🙂

And I got to show my 100days100blocks quilt to everyone too 🙂
