Craft it Forward

By June 6, 2016blog

Late last year Fiona (@bendigolioness) held a small competition on her blog late last year about doing a craft it forward (http://bendigolioness.blogspot.com.au/2015/10/craft-it-forward.html) swap.

Fiona selected three people who agreed to receive a handmade gift from Fiona in return for having their own Craft It Forward on their blog and to send out three handmade gifts to people. I WAS SELECTED!

I caught up with Fiona in Kyneton (another gorgeous town in our local area) and she gave me my Craft it Forward gift today. A Lori Holt Stitchy Kit using, of course, Lori Holt fabrics!

Isn’t it just gorgeous? Thank you so much Fiona!

It is one thing I love our our quilting community on Instagram and on our blogs….. we all love to do things for others and as we enjoy making things (and using some of our gorgeous fabrics!) – this is a great way to do both!

So…. now I can start my own Craft It Forward 🙂

If you have an Instagram account and/or your own blog and are willing to host your own Craft it Forward within the 12 months after you receive your gift and send out something handmade to three people, then please comment below with your IG name, blog address and the type of thing that you would like to make for others.

The three people I select will each receive a handmade gift from me (you so know that a teddy bear cushion is going to be in there somewhere, don’t you!?) at some stage within the next 12 months. I am aiming for before Xmas, so hopefully within 6 months 🙂 As soon as you receive your Craft if Forward gift, you can start your own Craft it Forward and you need to send out your gifts within the following 12 months.

This is open to people all around the globe (fine print: I might choose to make smaller items under 500 grams for overseas people as our postage costs are HUGE from Australia!)

Ready, steady……. GO!

I would love to take part in this. I have done these pay it forward swaps before and it’s so much fun. I do not have a blog though ☚ī¸ However I have wanted to start one for ages so this could be a great incentive to do just that! I do have IG it’s @ mellie.h

Thanks for chance to take part!

HI Melissa! I have tweaked the requirements a little and as long as you have an IG account you are considered 🙂 A blog is just an added bonus!

Great idea Anne! I don’t have a blog, but if I’m eligible with just an IG account I’d like to be considered ???? Of course bunting would feature in my craft it forward gift …. Because it makes me happy, and I think everyone should have a bit of bunting In their life

Hi Cathy 🙂 I have tweaked it a bit so people with just an IG account can be considered 🙂 So consider yourself considered! 🙂

Yay, that’s great, thanks again. I’d make fabric baskets, sewing kits, mug rugs, mini quilts, oh I’d make anything really…. I’d stalk the persons IG and see what they pine for and make something to fill the void! Melissa

  • I love craft/pay it forward so yes please I would love to be considered. Many thanks.

    Hi Anna,

Loved reading your blog. Loved getting ti.know more about you. I would love to be part of your craft it forward. I have an instagram @kathyskwiltsandmore and a blog at http://www.kathyskwiltsandmore.blogspot.com

    Thank you.

  • Sounds like so much fun! I would love to be considered. My IG is @inquringquilter and my blog is http://www.inquiringquilter.com. I will probably limit my winners to the states because of postage, so I totally understand if all you can afford to send is a fabric scrap!

  • I think this is a marvelous idea and I would love to be a part of it! I do not do instagram though…so will that be a problem? Just let me know and I may go ahead and start my own Gift if Forward on my Blog; I really enjoy making quilts, gifts and fabrics of any sort. I can not afford to ship overseas either though. It is just so expensive and is actually very sad because there are so many great people to meet and do exchanges with in other countries. So please let me know your answer and will go from there! I also need to forewarn that I have not been blogging very often as of late, just lots of things going on. But this would be a great way to get me going again!

Congratulations ladies! I will be in touch soon 🙂
