My two favourite things… quilting and planning!
(Oh, and of course my husband and family!! doh!)
I love sitting down at the beginning of the year (and then each quarter) and working out what presents are to be made, what new patterns are starting to flitter around in my brain, what fabrics I just HAVE to make into something…. and so it all becomes my plan.
I realised last year that long, huge projects (yes, I am talking about you Tula Pink Butterfly quilt!!) are not how I want to spend my time. Don’t get me wrong, they are amazing quilts in the end, but the time spent on them means I can’t make as many things as I want to, and I couldn’t join in on a lot of other fun things that people were doing. So (and yes, you can hold me to this!) I am not going to do any of these huge projects this year.
I have some WIPs I really want to finish and some birthday presents I want to do quilts for and some magazines to make patterns for…. and LOTS of delicious fabrics to use!

It Takes A Village Dwell Quilt
Dwell blocks from #dwellswapdownunder and my patchworkswoon as the back. All in Bonnie and Camille. Will finish in 2018.
Woohoo… managed to get this out and get the front quilt top finished (coz, yes, this is going to be a doublesided quilt!)

Girt by Sea Quilt
I am up to the wave round and after that there is just one more round in this fun medallion quilt. And I am LOVING the rainbow colours and the Alison Glass fabrics I am using….. drool….
Some more cutting has been done for the next two rounds!
Update from end of March 2018: cutting has been done. no more sewing though 🙁
Snail Trail Quilt
This is a Missouri Star Quilt Company tutorial in Horizon fabric. This is all cut out just waiting for a nice free weekend to be sewn up into a quilt top. Looking forward to this one!

Peaceful Planet Sewalong
I am using Big Sky fabric for this one and I am loving the fabric!
This is a quilt for my great-nephew who is moving into his big boy bed soon. It was supposed to be at Christmas time, but my niece decided it could wait for a while longer so I have a bit of a reprieve!
Update from end of March 2018: quilt top all finished ready for basting.
Adorn Whole Cloth Quilt
As soon as I saw the Adorn fabric from Alison Glass come out I knew I wanted to make a whole cloth quilt for a birthday present this year.
WOOHOO! I finished one on my list!!!
Merrily Quilt Kit
I have been hankering to make this kit up for aaaages! This quarter is definitely the time!

Bush Gum Blossoms Cushions
Made two cushions for a blog tour using the beautiful Bush Gum Blossoms fabric 🙂
Mega Jelly Roll Patch Quilt
Finally got my Jelly Roll Patch quilt in the large size back from quilters and got it bound! Fell in love all over again with the Gooseberry fabric from Lellaboutique!
Sakura Birthday Quilt

Oh you have picked the most WONDERFUL projects! I’ll enjoy seeing them come to life this quarter. I am in love with the It Takes a Village quilt. Can you point me to where you got the pattern?
Thanks Janice! I am itching to get stuck into them all! The It Takes a Village quilt is using the Dwell block from Camille Roskelly’s book, Simply Retro, and the layout is one I have come up with 🙂 The Swoon block in the middle is also one of Thimbleblossom’s patterns 🙂
There are so many pretty projects on your list; I wish you lots of luck in making progress this first quarter. Looking forward to seeing your Adorn wholecloth. I love anything AG!

Wowzers! I’m not game to list my WIPs. Overwhelming to say the least. I always seem to pick the BIG projects. Better start on a plan cos I’m having nightmares about all the fabric, patterns etc that I have on hand. Not enough hours, burnt out, etc.
Hehe…. I must admit I only put the ones down that I think I have a VAGUE hope of getting to each quarter!!!
And yes, big projects are very draining. Maybe pop a couple of quick, easy projects in there to use up some of that stash?
My two favorites on your list are “It Takes a Village” and “Merrily”. I love houses in quilts, so maybe that is why.
