We are offering a wonderful monthly subscription to the Aurifil Colour Builders (or spelt Color Builders if you are reading from elsewhere!) this year.
This year, Aurifil is highlighting their awesome variegated threads, which I LOVE for quilting! And they have chosen the colours based on things in the Rainforest that inspire them. AND they are donating to The Rainforest Trust along the way.
Each month you get three spools of their 50 weight thread, two are variegated and one is a solid colour that coordinates.
AND there is a stunning applique block each month highlighting something in the rainforest that the colour has been inspired by.
This first month is the Frangipani plant and oh how I love the smell of Frangipani!
I did not know however that it a native of Mexico / Central America and has been used as an anti-inflammatory. Most people will however know that it is used in Hawaiian Lei.
I first smelt them in Fiji in the Pacific on holidays with my parents in my early teens….. they were in every room (even the bathrooms!) of the places we stayed.
And I am adding in a bonus for people who subscribe to the monthly (for twelve months) subscription…. a bonus 12″ block that can be made into a quilt by themselves, or included with the applique blocks to make a wonderful quilt by the end of the year!
I will also be creating a video to show the participants a free motion quilting motif to use with the block and using the gorgeous variegated threads!
Postage is also included each month. So head on over and sign up for your subscription!
