I finally decided I would enter my Farm Girl Vintage quilt into the Large Quilt Category of the Blogger’s Quilt Festival run by Amy of www.amyscreativeside.com
I used Sweetwater’s Feed Company fabric (as this is on our bed and my hubby did not like the idea of any ‘girly’ fabric there!) and picked my favourite blocks from Lori Holt’s Farm Girl Vintage book. The tractor just HAD to take centre stage in the quilt!
The cows were a little bemused with our photo shoot 🙂
I had the quilt professionally quilted by Tina Whittaker of Let’s Talk About Quilts who lives near me… she did an open, soft pattern as I like my quilts to still feel soft after being quilted.
This is my favourite quilt …. well until the next one!
I like how you chose which blocks to use and centered everything around the tractor, it is a lovely quilt. I hope you have fun with the festival!
Thanks Yvonne!
I love your fabric choices on this quilt! And your layout choice is great.
Thanks Lorinda – Feed Company was just a perfect fit for a farm quilt!
Hi Anne, I love your quilt! It is a great non-girly quilt! Good luck!
Thanks Michelle – good luck to you too!
I LOVE it!!!! What a perfect fit!!
Hehe Alycia – what could have been more perfect than a farm quilt made from farm related fabrics with pictures taken on a farm!? 🙂 Thanks for stopping by.
Beautifully done! Love the fabrics you choose, they are perfect. Congrats on a very fun and pretty quilt.
Thanks so much Kate – Sweetwater fabrics are gorgeous!
Great colors! Where did you get the goose block?
HI Diana – I created my own duckie block (based on our runner ducks) you can find it under the Patterns menu link above 🙂
This is a lovely entry for the festival. I have Lori’s book too. One of these days I’ll just have to start making some blocks.
Oh yes Karen, do! It is a great book and so many options in there. Just saying, those 6″ blocks can be a bit fiddly!!
Pretty fabrics and design. What a lovely quilt!
thank you so much Danice 🙂 It is my favourite!
Cute! I love your mix of fabrics – thanks for sharing!
And thank you Amy for hosting the competition!
Wow, I love all the little blocks you made for the border!
Thanks Tiffany! Some of them were very fiddly, but it all came together in the end 🙂
