I bought this cute panel from my friend Kerry at The Rural Stitch Co earlier this year and during September and quilt retreat with Raylee in Canberra, I got them all started!
The instructions on the panel are for simple zipper pouches, not lined and not quilted, but of course I wanted to make life a little more complicated, didn’t I! : )
I found some sewing and stitching related low volume prints for the lining of each of them, as well as binding for all of them.
Then I started on the quilting of the three panels (front below zip, front above zip and back) and I always forget how slow quilting on my domestic sewing machine is!!
Still, I finally managed to get them all made and I am in love!
I am in love with them so much I think they deserve a photo each!
This green one has a crochet design on it and the back – very cute!
I love this ‘happiness is handmade one’. Each of the bags has a handle which I made out of the fabric (it is almost a cotton canvas weight) that was around the panel. Waste not, want not!
Sew On and Sew Forth is a cute red one.
And my favourite of the small bags, is this one. Sew Vintage. I even found a cute little zipper pull that suited perfectly.
And now for the larger project bags. These will definitely hold a quilt project ready to start!
A cute sewing one with some great blocks on the front.
The grey one with the tomato pin cushions is sweet! It has a yellow back on it, so it isn’t quite so ‘grey’!
My favourite one is ‘happiness is a full bobbin’, coz YES PLEASE! (and an extra large one at that please!)
And the last one is this colourful hexie one. Each of the bags also has one of Lori Holt’s cute tabs on the left side to help when opening the zippers…. and they are cute as!
If ever you stumble across one of the zipper bag panels by Lori Holt, do grab it! They aren’t cheap (I think I paid around $60??) but 8 wonderful bags and a lot of fun making them!
