Monthly Colour Challenge with Jen – February

By February 26, 2020April 9th, 2020blog

I am joining Jen of Patterns By Jen (PBJ for short!) for her monthly colour challenge.

Jen has picked the colours this year based on birds and February is the Indigo Bunting Bird and the colour is aqua / teal.

Head over to her blog to read all about the colours for the rest of the year as well as this month’s colour.

This is Jen’s block from her blog for this month

I am selecting all my fabrics from my Bonnie & Camille stash, so there will be months that I can’t join in on (I’m thinking the purple month I am going to have to use some other fabrics or just not make one!). But there ARE aquas in B&C, so here is my block with a little bit of a twist….

As you can see, compared to the original block that Jen did I tweaked things a little by replacing one of the lighter aqua triangles with a white…. and that is because when I first saw the block I saw the square in the middle and I wanted to highlight it more!

And I want to highlight it so much I might even put the block on point in my sampler quilt at the end of the year!

I am enjoying finding fabric in my stash to make these blocks each month….. if you want to join us click on one of the links above to go to Jen’s blog and find out all the details (and pssst… there are prizes for joining in!)

Isn’t it amazing how a small change in fabric placement changes the whole look of a block? I love what you did with yours! I had to go back and look at my block to see if I saw that square, and I did!
