Peaceful Planet Sew Along

By October 2, 2017May 4th, 2018blog

We had so much fun doing the previous relaxed Said With Love Sewalong (click here to read all about it) that I have been itching to do another one!

What makes a Relaxed Sewalong? Because you can make as many or as few blocks as you like, make a full quilt, a throw rug, a cot quilt, a bed runner, goodness you can make a mini out of just one block if you like!

There aren’t any required posts (though we love seeing how you are going!), it is just a great opportunity to sew along with people around the globe on the same pattern and get to share what we all love about quilting.

Sew alongs are all about making beautiful things, with gorgeous fabric and chatting with some new friends who ‘get’ us 🙂

As you can see by the round up post of our recent Handmade With Love Sewalong, people did some different things with the one pattern 🙂

Life is too short to be stuck to rules and regulations… and we all know that life kicks us in the pants sometimes. I would love you to join in with our next Sewalong and have some fun, meet some new people from around the globe and make something gorgeous!

So…. if you think this kind of sewalong sounds like fun, this is what is coming ….

The Peaceful Planet Sew Along

I love Elizabeth Hartman patterns… I have drooled over Fancy Forest and then Awesome Ocean caught my eye and now Delightful Desert is about to be released…. I love them all! I mean who can resist those cute creatures?!

BUT……

I don’t want to make a full quilt of any one of them…. don’t get me wrong, they are gorgeous quilts and the ones I have seen are amazing…. but I want to make one that is just mine.

So I am going to grab bits from ALL THREE of these patterns and make up a design that includes bits from each and share it with you (you will still need the patterns, I won’t be giving dimensions, just layout).

And as all the animals and sea creatures will all be co-existing happily in my quilt, I am calling it the Peaceful Planet (oh, don’t we wish us humans could get along that well?!). Hmmm… maybe we need to get more people in this world quilting!!

Details

The Peaceful Planet Sew Along will start once the Delightful Desert pattern is available here in Australia (estimated for late October).

There will be creatures from each of the patterns with some of the filler blocks to make up a single bed sized quilt. Though, remember you can do whatever YOU like if you don’t want to do exactly the same as me!

There will be a break for Christmas (though I am hoping to have mine finished for a Christmas present so I will be powering on through!) and after Xmas we will get started again.

The sewalong will be here on my blog as well as on my Instagram account @anneboundy If you don’t want to miss anything, please follow the blog via email

More details as we get closer to the release date of the Delightful Desert pattern!

Patterns

If you would like to join in with me, I have teamed up with Janeene from Fabric Patch and she is offering a good deal on the Elizabeth Hartman patterns (just use the code EHpatternoffer when you check out). You can use the code now to get the first two patterns if they aren’t already in your stash, and order the Delightful Desert one when it arrives. You can start planning your quilt!

Fabrics

You can use whatever fabrics you want! (see, aren’t relaxed sewalongs easy?!) I have been loving shopping at Fabric Patch for some time now as Janeene has pretty much every Moda fabric line there is. And pre-releases so you can get your fix of new fabrics! Janeene is offering 10% off fabrics for you as well!

You get 10% off from the following categories (just click on the links) :

Just use the code FollowAB10 as you check out. If you have any problems whatsoever Janeene is lovely to deal with and happy to help you choose things! 🙂 And if you are in Brisbane, she will be attending the Brisbane Craft and Quilt Fair this weekend (4th October onwards)

I am going to be using my fat quarter bundle of Big Sky which I bought from Fabric Patch recently… it is delicious and I can’t wait to crack it open 🙂 And Janeene was great in helping me select some perfectly matching solids!
