52 Quilters for 2018

By December 22, 2017blog

I have been starting to look forward to 2018 ( I know, I know, Christmas hasn’t even happened yet and I’m thinking about next year!!) but one of the fun things I am going to be involved in again is 52 Quilters!

This is a social experiment started by Chris to have a different quilter from around the world share their quilting life and surroundings through social media for a week over the year. It is a great way to find more people that are into the same things you are…. and take a sneak peek into their lives! Read more about 52Quilters here

2018 is going to be a little different on 52 Quilters – there is going to be a theme each month. Each month will be hosted by one quilter and then three other quilters who are interested in that theme will post for a week during the month.

I am excited to be hosting July – Scraps!

I have been slowly working on my scraps and finding a way to manage them that suits me…. and finding some fun projects to use them all up!

If scraps is something that gets you excited – put an application in at 52Quilters to join me in July 2018 to showcase your approach to scraps and quilting! Applications are only open until 3rd January, so go apply now!

With over 10,000 people following the 52Quilters Instagram account alone, this is a great way to highlight your business and your thoughts on scraps.

There are also 11 other months with interesting themes if you wanted to put in a application to join one of those instead.

Jan – Quilting for wellbeing/purpose
Feb – Finding your creative voice/celebrating your unique perspective
Mar – Walking Foot Work
April – Unconventional materials
May – World Tour of Quilters (looking for quilters from all over the world)
June – Solids
July – Scraps (ME!)
Aug – Fussy Cutting
Sept – Foundation Piecing
Oct – Improvisation
Nov – Art Quilters
Dec – Holidays – (can be any holiday/seasonal projects – not just Christmas!)

2018 is going to be a fun year on 52 Quilters as well as here at Said With Love!

I hope you all have a lovely Holiday time with your family and friends and that you can sneak in some therapeutic sewing time as well!
