I have been waiting impatiently for these to arrive! The Aurifil Thread Labs subscription boxes have been talked about a lot, and whilst we have seen what will be included in this first month, actually seeing and getting to play with them is going to be fun!
This first month is the ‘getting to know you’ box I think! Even the label was fun, with space that I could personalise it for my customers who have also gotten the subscription, as well as for me!
And as a shop owner, I loved that it came in a sturdy box that I could just wrap and send to my customers!

There is an online portal with lots of digital goodies as well each month. This month there was a welcome video explaining each of the thread weights with Karen Miller who is Aurifil’s Master Educator and Aurifilosophy Program Director. She knows a LOT about thread!
There is also a project each month and this month is a sampler that gets us using each of the weights of thread to try them out and see how they look and compare to each other! There is a video going through the project as well as PDFs to explain all the steps in the sampler.
AND there was an awesome coupon code to get 20% off all PDF patterns from Aneela Hoey – you can bet I took advantage of that one!
Here were all the goodies in the box…. the Auricase to hold our threads, the Aurifilosophy box with all the different weights of thread, all in the same colour so we can concentrate on the weight difference and not the colours (I am sure there will be colours coming in the next months!) and last but definitely NOT least… the new Aurifil Colour Card!
It is gorgeous and so handy as you fan it out! It will make putting fabric right up next to the threads very easy so we can find just the right colour thread!
I am sure these will be available to purchase soon….. they can’t keep something this good from everyone.
Well I am off to plot and scheme how I am going to do the sampler project…. I’ll leave a picture of what that looks like for another time – you can compare it to what I end up making!
