The Fat Quarter Shop have released another Shortcut Pattern called the Fat Quarter Cubes Quilt. A nice easy quilt that comes together very quickly and is a great way to showcase some cute fabrics! And boy did I choose some cute fabrics!! Kinder by Heather Ross š
O.M.G. those little scenes of the kids in their kindergarten and the alphabet are just GORGEOUS!
Seriously, it had me at Q for Quilt š
The Fat Quarter Cubes pattern uses large squares and rectangles, so you get to see lots of the fabric (and did I mention how quickly this quilt comes together?!?)
And in usual fashion I tweaked the pattern a little bit and made it more child sized by doing two blocks across and three blocks down……. AND did exactly the same on the back as well. Yes, another double-sided quilt!
Autumn has just started (finally!) here at the Said With Love Quilt Barn…. looking forward to lots of leaves to rake up soon š
Some swirly FMQ on each of the blocks and some organic wavy lines along the sashing made the quilting pretty quick as well – seriously you can knock this one up (one side) in a day š
This quilt is going to go to my niece for fundraising for her little boy’s kindergarten, so I couldn’t resist a photo shoot in their playroom
The Fat Quarter Shop have put up a blog post with lots of details about the Fat Quarter Cubes Quilt pattern as well as a video so go and check them out š
And as I had a little bit of fabric left over (and you know how I hate waste!) I made a cute cushion to go with the quilt too š More fundraising hopefully!
I will show you more of the cushion in July when I am hosting the @52Quilters Instagram account for Scrap Month (and I have made a cushion insert that fits it perfectly!).
So head on over to Fat Quarter Shop to find out more about the pattern and to see all the other amazing versions other bloggers have created š
What a gorgeous quilt! Love a quilt that doesn’t require a lot of cutting and that comes together quickly š
Thanks Anorina! š ooh yeah, sometimes it is just good to make a quilt (with great fabric) nice and quick and easily š
Gorgeous! Great use of this fabric collection! What color blue did you use for the sashing? It matches so nicely.
Hi Amy, I used Bella Solids Capri for the sashing… it looks great in real life! š
Your quilt is beautiful! Love all the little tweaks you made to it š Iām a Heather Ross fan š
Thanks Cynthia! And this fabric has made me a Heather Ross fan too!
I love Heather Ross fabric! Beautiful quilt and cushion. Great choice. I just put the finishing touches on a pillow, as we call then here in the states, to go with my Ombre Confetti Fat Quarter Cubes Quilt. I often make pillowcases, a toss pillow or a table topper with extra fabric from a quilt. It is such a good way to use up scraps and to make a project extra special. That for sharing in the quiltalong and stopping by my blog and leaving a kind word today … š Pat
This is adorable! Congratulations on the finish. Thanks for linking up on behalf of the 2018 global Finish-A-Long hosts.
