Sewalong Details

Stitch Pink is run in October each year and coincides with Breast Cancer Awareness month. Moda Fabrics selects a fabric collection each year for Stitch Pink, and this year it is I Heart Ombre Metallics by V & Co and OMG it is gorgeous!

Said With Love supports this each year with a sewalong and fundraising, and in 2024 we will be sewing one of our new A Year Of Hearts patterns! (yes, we can’t get enough of hearts!).

Our pattern, called A Side Of Hearts, is now available to purchase as a PDF download.

Our sewalong is starting on Tuesday 15th October for five weeks, in the meantime, you can make sure that you have your fabric required for the pattern!

Fabric Requirements

A Half Metre or Half Yard bundle of all 10 of the coloured prints from I Heart Ombre Metallics and 2.5 metres (or 2.75 yards) of the white print from the collection.

IMPORTANT NOTE: please DO NOT STARCH your precut half yard bundles…we need every bit of the 18″ width of the half yard cuts, and starching will decrease that. If you really want to starch your fabrics, you will need 0.75 yards (0.75 metres) of each of the prints.

Also, be very gentle when pressing your half yard cuts so you don’t distort them. More in my Sewalong information video coming soon.

For a backing you will need 2 yards of a wideback (or 1.75m of a wideback) or if using normal width fabrics you will need 5.25 yards or 5 metres for a vertical seam on the backing. (This includes enough backing for longarming)

For Aussies and Kiwis, we have released some more kits available here . The kit will include the pattern as well.

And there are some Ombre Metallic wideback in magenta and pink available too.

How to Join In

Sign ups are now open for the Sewalong HERE.   This will also sign you up for my fortnightly newsletters (which are fun!) and you will need to stay signed up for at least the duration of the sewalong.

The sewalong starts on Tuesday 15th October 2024.

We will send out a welcome email as soon as you sign up and then once the sewalong starts, an email each week with what we are doing that week as well as tips and tricks and the occasional video to show a particular technique.
