Farm Girl Vintage 2 – Happy Horse (and giveaway)

By January 9, 2020January 11th, 2020blog

It is my turn to showcase blocks for the Fat Quarter Shop Farm Girl Vintage 2 sew along! (keep on reading for the giveaway!)

This week the blocks are the Happy Horse and the Honey Bee.

The Happy Horse is of course happy because he has such a gorgeous quilted blanket!

I am using my Sweetwater fabric stash for all my blocks – and this Happy Horse is quite the educated horse with all his Elementary fabrics adorning him!

His feed bucket will be getting a handle when I put the blocks together into the quilt…… wondering whether perhaps there should be a cute little birdie sitting on the edge of the bucket too?

Our country property is over 100 years old and the man who built our house, Arthur, loved his Clydesdale horses… we are always finding horseshoes any time we dig in our gardens!

We hang them up around the house and in our Barn (which is built almost where the shed on the right is in the picture above), so Happy Horse wanted to hang out with some of those horseshoes too.

And the second block for this week is the Honey Bee.

We all know the importance of bees and I love watching ours buzzing around the lavender bushes… this one however had stopped for a break on our Rhododendron bush!

And this one was peeking out in front of the Said With Love Quilt Barn!

Are you joining in on the Farm Girl Vintage 2 sew along fun? Check out the hashtag #farmgirlfridays on Instagram and follow along with Lori Holt and Fat Quarter Shop as they showcase blocks each Friday!

And to kick off this section of blocks I am having a giveaway of a Rolie Polie (40 strips of 2.5″ x WOF) of Lori Holt’s Granny Chic fabric line!

You can win this gorgeous jelly roll of Granny Chic fabrics by subscribing to my newsletter (you can do that in the footer of any page on this website) and then commenting here on this blog post that you have subscribed.

This giveaway is open until the 7th February (when Mr Scarecrow is showcased). This is open to all around the world, however if the winner is international (ie not within Australia), they will be responsible for the shipping costs.

Good luck! And happy Farm Girl Friday!
