Farm Girl Vintage 2 – Happy Flowers

By January 8, 2020blog

If you have been following along with my Farm Girl Vintage 2 #farmgirlfridays you will know that I am not making every block for my sampler, so there have been some weeks I haven’t made a block.

This last week however I made two of the Happy Flowers blocks in the 6″ size (all the blocks in Lori Holt’s Farm Girl Vintage 2 book come in both the 6″ and 12″ sizes!)

I am using up my Sweetwater fabric stash (ok, who am I kidding, I am barely DENTING my Sweetwater fabric stash) for all my blocks. And it has been lovely revisiting some old favourites, like that Noteworthy paisley print I used for the right hand leaves.

And as usual, I am using Aurifil thread for all my piecing. I use Chalk ( a just off white) colour for all my piecing and when it comes to quilting I might use some of these great colours!

How are you going with the sew along?

I must admit that all the fires happening in and around Australia at the moment have taken my attention away from this sew along a bit, but with some cooler weather and less horrific news and images every moment of the day, I have been able to concentrate a bit more and I can’t wait to show you the Happy Horse block this next Friday!
