What a fun sew along this has been! Thanks for coming along on the ride with me 🙂

This week is putting our quilt top together. A bit of sashing, deciding the layout of all those cute presents (wishing they were real ones and I could open them all!) and then thinking about basting, quilting and binding!
And this is my quilt top! I am thrilled with how it turned out! I must say, about week 3 I was really questioning my fabric selection as the blocks were very BRIGHT! But with all that white sashing and space, they look fab 🙂
I only did 4 blocks per row so my quilt is a bit smaller than the pattern, but as our Xmas is in the middle of a stinking hot Australian summer, snuggling under a quilt just wasn’t going to be on the agenda!
I am thinking it might be more like sitting on it on the floor whilst drooling over wrapped presents under the tree… hoping that the sticky tape ‘accidentally’ falls off an end…. 🙂
As these present blocks aren’t all the same size I didn’t have to worry too much about lining them up. If I have a quilt that has blocks that require lining up perfectly, I sash each side and bottom of the individual blocks and then put them together. Makes it easier than trying to line up a whole row with one long row of sashing in between.
Can’t wait to see how your quilts come together.

Thanks so much for following along with the fun!
Anne, I love this! I must get myself in gear and make a couple of these for Christmas gifts.
