My Tula X Plus quilt was started a loooong time ago as part of my #sewmyprecious encouragement to use your ‘good’ fabric…. you know the fabric…. sitting in pride of place on a shelf or cupboard…. I wanted everyone to get it out and USE it!
I started this way back in about 2018 with a fabric pull of a surprising amount of delicious Tula Pink fabrics!
And then I started making X Plus blocks
Then I started to get into fussy cutting the Tula Pink fabrics
And just like that I was hooked!
Fast forward quite a while later (like late 2020!) I had made quite a few blocks and almost had a quilt top created.
I played around with the centre colours (that bight green one bottom left got remade coz it was just too much!). And here is the quilt top.
But then, well, life got in the way and it sat as a finished quilt top in my quilting queue for over a year! But, finally, I managed to get it quilted with my favourite wavy line digital pattern.
That quilting pattern gives movement to the quilt without overpowering it with a big quilting pattern. And this quilt is quite busy as it is!
I used the last of my favourite Tula Pink wideback on the back…. just gorgeous! I wish Tula would re-release this one!
And I couldn’t resist putting it onto the bed whilst we were away on holidays too.
It really brightens up the room!
And here is @thefabrichusband holding the quilt in between photo shoot takes!
And now I am wondering what precious fabrics I will be getting out next to continue #sewmyprecious
it’s absolutely beautiful Anne
Thanks Julie!
Your quilt is stunning, Anne! is there a pattern for it?
Hi Lara, it is just the X Plus block (you can google it and there are a few tutorials on how to make it) <3
Love the fabric . The colours are beautiful. I would love to make that quilt.
Thanks Colleen! It is a wonderful block to make scrappy from your stash !
So pretty! You should be so proud to show off your lovely quilt!! Makes me want to start something with my ‘good fabrics’. ❤️
Terry it was totally worth getting out the ‘good fabrics’! I now have that quilt hanging on the wall of my sewing room, so I get to enjoy and love it every day!
