We all need a bit of a reminder sometimes, don’t we?
My lovely friend Di’s birthday was in July and I really wanted to make something just for her after what has been a pretty darn horrible year for her.
I found this gorgeous cushion panel in my stash that I got from another Di (from @verandah_crafts) and it was perfect!
I did some free motion quilting on my domestic machine (a Janome 9450) and I had a ball doing some fairly dense meandering in and around the flowers and leaves and deer!
Every time I do FMQ on my domestic I am reminded how hard it is!! But it was probably just as quick as loading it up onto Lily the longarm.
I quilted in and around the letters…… and did a tiny heart in the middle of the O
Yeah, I am a bit cheesy!! <3 But we could all use a little bit of extra love this year I think!
I found a great mustard Art Gallery print in my stash for the binding and Julia the binding baby helped out!
There are the cutest teal eyes on the tiger/leopard on the print that went really well with teal of the cushion and the teal deer on the back of the cushion too!
I totally forgot to take a finished pic of the cushion before sending it to my friend, so here is a pic she took of the front and back of the cushion 🙂
I couldn’t resist getting this deer print out of my Blithe (by Katerina Roccella for Art Gallery) stash… and it was in teal to tie everything in : )
Cushions are a bit of my go-to present to make for people…. they are reasonably quick and easy and practical! And there are only so many quilts you can give people, right?!
The cushion is just perfect and what a great gift for someone special.. thank you for sharing it.. put a smile on my face ☺️☺️
So glad it made you smile Kathy! I wish I had more of that panel, as I think there are quite a few people who need to be reminded of this this year!
What a great idea for a gift and I won’t even have to go fabric shopping!!
Hehehe…… have you got one of these panels too? They are awesome! (And I wish I had more!).
