With apologies to Debra Harry of Blondie, this month our A Year of Hearts block is called Heart of Glass! (and do you now have an earworm singing in your head!?)

Whether you are putting a martini in there, some champagne, or in my case, a mocktail, this celebratory drink has a heart swizzle stick, and some optional heart bubbles!
So much fun to make with a little bit of applique – your choice as to which method you use, we have learnt a few of them so far this year!
And the base of the glass uses Foundation Paper Piecing, so this month’s video shows you how to do that.

You can purchase the block as a PDF download so you can get started making your own right now!

Hello,
Every year at my retreat I bring this project and I LOvE THIs!!
However I am confused on “Heart of Glass”.
It says at the end of the pattern to print D,G,F for FFP at 100%. I don’t see that pattern on page 3.
The last page of my pattern is A1,A2 &A3, K & M hearts. Nothing about the base of the glass.
Thanks for your help
Karen
Hi Karen!
Yes, the letters on the template are A1, A2, A3 for the bottom of the glass. This is the order that you sew them in.
The fabrics that you use for them are G and F. D then gets sewn to either end.
A little confusing sorry!
Hope that can keep you sewing along!
