Welcome to the start of our next sew along – the Elizabeth Hartman pattern Norm & Nanette the gnomes!
If you have been a bit worried about how hard these blocks are to make, put your mind at ease…. these gnomes are pretty easy to make! There aren’t any super small pieces and only a few fold and flip corners.
Here is a sneak peek of one of next week’s gnomes!
They looks SO cute when they are made up!
So this first week of the sew along is making sure you have your pattern
Buy the Norm & Nanette pattern hereHaving a read of the Sew Along details and suggested schedule (remember this is a relaxed sewalong… you do the blocks you want to do!)
Sew Along details hereAnd then deciding on what fabrics you want to use (always the fun part of every new project!)
So here is my fabric pull:
I have selected two layer cakes from V & Co; Color Theory and Spectrum, which have lots of bright colours in there! My gnomes are going to be a bright bunch!
And I am going to be using my favourite dark grey shot cotton from Spotlight as the background.
And I am going to do a double sided quilt (coz, hey, who needs sleep right?!) with the giant gnome, Hank on the back!
This fabric pull was fun… lots of low volumes for the background along with scrappy greens for the grass, and I couldn’t go past that big red and white dot for his hat!
So, if you would like to join us – start picking out your fabrics and post your fabric pull on Instagram with the #hangingwithmygnomiesSAL or join our Facebook sew along group and post a picture of your fabric pull in there 🙂
There will be a person selected to win our first prize, a Strawberry Jam by Corey Yoder charm pack sponsored by me!
So get those fabric pulls decided and I will choose the prize winner next week on Monday 4th March.
