My projects from Not-Your-Typical Jelly Roll Quilts book

Back in May I reviewed the Not-Your-Typical Jelly Roll Quilts book by Michelle Lander Cain ( @frombolttobeauty on Instagram) and I fell in love with three (well, actually 5!) of the projects!

You can check out the blog post for the original review as well as watch the original video review here.

I just HAD to start three projects straight away I loved them so much!

This week I have finished (well, almost!) all three of them and I wanted to show them to you!

Watch the video showing all three of my projects!

My first project was Neighbourly, which in the book is only a small wallhanging project, but I wanted to make this one LARGE!

I used two jelly rolls and just had an absolute ball sewing all the blocks up during Quilt Camp with friends.

This one is now a quilt top and will probably stay that way until at least the end of the year. I haven’t decided on the backing (see the video for my thoughts about it though!) and there isn’t anyone set to receive this one as yet, so no rush!

The second project was a baby quilt of the Five Star Experience (or in my case, the one star experience!!) and this was just a fun and pretty quick project.

It is a great baby quilt size… and if I had wanted to make it a little larger, I could have added a wide border all the way around, but I was done and ready for the project to be finished!

There is always a baby due somewhere in my extended family / friends, so this one won’t stay in the quilt cupboard very long!

And watch the video to see what fabric I selected for the backing of this one!

And thanks to the ability to edit my video (thank goodness it wasn’t live!) you don’t see me sticking myself with a pin holding this quilt up and bleeding everywhere! Thankfully not on the white background… phew!)

My final project is one block from the I Heart Rainbows quilt.

This one I knew was going to sit on our pew in the hallway… it is a bright spot in our hallway and makes me smile every time I walk past!

To be honest, my hallway makes me smile as I walk down it, the cushion is just icing on the top!

If you would like to get your hands on the Not-Your-Typical Jelly Roll Quilts book by Michelle, I have an affiliate code to purchase either an e-book or a physical printed book from C&T Publishing (the publishing company who produced the book for Michelle).
