Peaceful Planet Sew Along – Week 5

By November 15, 2017May 4th, 2018blog

Welcome to week 5 of our very super relaxed Peaceful Planet sew along!

If you missed the beginning it isn’t too late to join us, this is one of the Said With Love’s relaxed sew alongs… you can join in at any time! Check out this first post for what it is all about 🙂

Just a quick recap – I am using three of Elizabeth Hartman’s patterns, Awesome Ocean, Fancy Forest and the latest one Delightful Desert to make a single size quilt. (all patterns are now available at www.fabricpatch.com.au just use the code EHPatternOffer to get a discount off!)

Oooh I can’t wait to start on those cute animals!!

However I have almost finished the awesome ocean part of my single bed Peaceful Planet quilt. All the Angel fish have joined the crew and Chuckles the clown fish (or Nemo!) are cut out and about to be sewn up.

The pattern has the Angel fish facing to the left, but yes, you guessed it, I wanted some facing the other way too!

So using some slightly different body fabric I have some to the left, some to the right (hmmm… reminds me of a song…!)

I was having some difficulty making a decision on what fabric the clown fish should be in (I hate orange), so I am still working on them! I better get my act in gear if my ocean section is going to get finished this week 🙂

And then onto the Fancy Forest next week!

    Love your fish !!!
These patterns are fantastic and I really wish every stitch would lead to a more peaceful planet ????
Hoping to get even a tiny project begun and finished ????????

Oh how I wish that through needle and thread we could stitch the world into being a better place! Still, we are doing our little place in the world!

I hope you get a few moments between now and February to make a block or two. They are actually quite quick to sew up… the cutting (oh and the deciding of fabrics!) is the most time consuming part!
