Oh how I love a good finish! This one has taken quite some time to get across the finish line, but oh she is lovely and worth the wait!

This was a quilt kit for Tula Pink’s Homemade collection – the pattern is called Spools for Love and the pattern was an exclusive one designed especially for the kit (and sorry, no more kits left!)
Each spool has some of the gorgeous Handmade fabric, some of it fussy cut!

It was a fun process selecting the Tula Pink solids to go with each of the spool centres.
The quilting I used was a new digital pattern called Swishi from Karlee Porter. I felt is sort of echoed the gorgeous design in the scissor print.

The backing is the stunning Lady Bug print from Tiny Beasts I just love the feel of the Tula Pink backings as well as the colours!
It took me almost two years to go from the quilt kit to quilt top…

And then get it quilted and bound

But oh, when I finally rounded that last corner of hand binding (I felt the quilt had 6 sides it took me so long!!) I was smitten and this quilt is going to mine and I think will hang out in my sewing space.
