Jen (from www.colorcreatingandquilting.blogspot.com) and Jan (from www.adreamandastitch.blogspot.com) have started a regular blog hop using patterns that Jen creates. This one is called Quilter’s Laundry Day!
Such a cute pattern and room to get a bit creative with the quilt hanging on the line 🙂
I used Sue Daley’s Beaujolais fabric for the house, door, roof and the quilt. I also modified the pattern a little bit to put a tree on top of one of the washing line poles… just like at our place one of our washing line ‘poles’ is a tree!
I love the little hexie pattern for the quilt!
And I couldn’t resist the cat (from Cat’s Pyjamas by Jodie Carleton), the floating robots and the levitating bear (from C+S) in the windows!
The floral print for the front door was also just fun with the centre of the flower as the door handle and I quilted around the flowers to highlight them.
There was some fun had quilting some clouds and birds into the sky around the house 🙂
Thanks Jan and Jen for the wonderful pattern and organising this blog hop. There are prizes to win by commenting on Jan and Jen’s blogs (see links below). And make sure to check out all the other blogs for everyone’s take on the pattern.

I love your fabric choices and the way you fussy cut the windows and doors. The quilt on the washing line is beautiful, and the garden path works very well. I really like the way you quilted the clouds and the birds, and your quilters husband is obviously a gardener with that immaculately cut and rolled lawn hehe, love it.
hehehe thanks Kate! Yes, @thefabrichusband does like a neatly mown lawn 🙂
Looks ready for spring! Love the additions to the windows!
Almost makes me want to go and hang laundry out!!
So many fun elements in your mini quilt. You really made it yours and your color and fabric choices just makes me smile.
Thanks Sola – it was a fun make 🙂
Adorable! and of course I love the kitty in the window!
A house isn’t a home until there is a kitty in the window 🙂
Love your fussy cutting & hexagon quilt on the line! Thank you, Susan
Thanks Susan… I loved finding all the cute little pieces to put into it!
Your mini is adorable! Love all the cute touches–the cat, the bear, the hexies! Great job.
Thanks Jennifer! It was fun to put together 🙂
Your mini turned out lovely. I love the hexies in the quilt and the little characters in the windows! Darling! Thanks for joining us!
Thanks for organising! A cute pattern and such fun to make 🙂
I really like the hexie quilt on the line, the tree pole, what fab fabric there, and at each window a little fellow looking out, You have stitched such a fun mini. I love it all.
It was fun! Life is short, let’s have lots of fun 🙂
Oh, I love it! That fussy cut fabric and the tree are wonderful details! Thanks so much for participating. This is a really sweet mini!
Thanks for organising! I had fun finding all the little pieces 🙂
Anne, I love all of your fussy cutting. It is adorable.
Thanks Jennifer! fussy cutting takes time but always makes me smile!
Love your windows! Good job!
Thanks Susan! I loved finding the little things to go in them ????
I like the hexi fabric you used, great idea. It took me a minute to realize it wasn’t pieced. The at in the window is is cute too. This hop has been a fun time.
Hehe, yes, I did cheat a little bit! I just love that fabric and have been wanting to use it somewhere… it just seemed the perfect place!
And once again, I’ve been surprised by yet a whole other take on this pattern. I love yours. The bear made me, “Ohhh! ” out loud. Such creativity in this group!
Thanks Julie! So glad it made you smile ???? Yes, so many different takes on the one pattern – hopefully we can do this again soon!
Such a pretty house and garden! Love the house’s occupants!
Thanks Jan…. the occupants seem to be having quite the party!
this is so sweet. I love your clothes line quilt
It is a great fabric line by Sue Daley….. it was just perfect for the quilt on the line 🙂
So whimsical! I really like the tree as clothesline post. But I love how you used the fabric for the mini mini and quilted it with hexies.
Thanks for stopping by 🙂 It was a fun pattern to tweak a little and make our own!
This is so much fun! I love the fabric you used for the sky and the way you made the windows! What a good idea to make a tree for one side of the clothesline!
Thanks Diann! My tree was a bit off centre… but it is always good to have something that isn’t quite perfect I think!
Lovely! I especially like the tree as one of your clothesline poles and the quilted clouds and birds! It’s so fun to see how each of you have changed up the pattern!
It was a great pattern to be able to play a bit with Emily! Not sure I should have done birds near my washing line though…. that just leads to more washing!
Love the fun touches in the windows, the cat especially! (I may have put one in one of my windows too!) Great quilting details too.
Thanks Sandra! I love the cat fabric from Jodie Carleton – perfect for fussy cutting!
How great is this with all it’s little additions! Love it!
Thanks Sue! I loved yours too! It was a fun little pattern to do 🙂
I can only imagine how much fun it was to make this mini quilt..I love looking at everyone’s version of it!! So much fun!!
It was amazing Sandy that all of us interpreted it a little differently and made it our own! Thanks for stopping by 🙂
What a gorgeous quilt! I love everything about it, from the floaty clouds and birds to the fussy cut windows and the tree ….. such great ideas!
Ahhhhhhh! What a clever little quilt on the line ….. I wasn’t sure if it was quilted or pieced at first!
Great fabric choices and wonderful quilting!
