This month’s block is near and dear to my heart…. my very first car was a radar red VW Beetle and I loved it until the day it rusted out beneath me!
I had always coveted a VW Combi Van too….. they just look so darn cute! So instead of buying one (the originals are soooo expensive these days!), I made a quilt block of one instead! And I have called it Love On Wheels!
So now we can all have one!
This block has some foundation paper piecing for the windscreen section, but the rest of the block is normal piecing.
And a warning, there are some small pieces in the side mirrors!
The windscreen is a perfect spot to be able to do some fussy placement, I couldn’t resist these original Cotton + Steel girls taking a ride in their Combi!
