Cats Come to Creswick is a wonderful art exhibition held each year on the June long weekend in my local small country town of Creswick, just 10 minutes north of Ballarat and about 1 & 1/2 hours from Melbourne.
Each year the John Curtin Aged Care facility in Creswick opens it’s function centre to a wide variety of art… all depicting or inspired by Cats!
Painted art, sculpture and this year, textile art! The exhibition is by invitation only and all works MUST be available for sale (for which Cats for Creswick take a portion that goes to John Curtin Aged Care).
We are opening up the exhibition to quilters (because we know how much quilters like cats!) and textile artists to showcase their fabric kitty work!
So do you have a piece of quilting or textile art that is all about Cats? Or have you been dreaming of this really cool piece you would like to make and just needed the excuse? Well, now is your chance to get your work exhibited and possibly sold!
So fill in the form below and tell us about the quilt / textile art you would like to put forward for our consideration to be shown at the Cats Come to Creswick exhibition!
For Sale: please give us your sale price. We will add 20% to this price which will go to the John Curtin Aged Care facility.
Theme: CATS and all things feline!
Hanging: there will need to be a hanging sleeve on the back of your piece.
Timeframe: expression of interest needs to be in by 15th February 2020. We will be in touch with the selected people by the end of February 2020.
Pieces need to be delivered to Cats Come to Creswick by the end of May 2020.
Please then send an email to patterns@saidwithlove.com.au with a picture of your proposed entry. If it has not yet been made, send a picture of a sketch or drawing of what you are proposing. A link to any website or social media to give us an idea of your style would also be appreciated.
We will then be in touch with those that are selected to discuss your entry in more detail.
