This month’s Charm Collective pattern is the Dream Big pattern. A fun and easy make using the colour ways within a fabric range in your charm packs!
Simple patchwork for quick sewing up, some fun playing around with colour placement, and then a little bit of either needleturn applique or some machine applique and you have a finished quilt top!
And it wouldn’t be one of my patterns if there wasn’t a little bit of fun on the back!
The updated pattern instructions now include some additional fabric to make the backing a little wider to accommodate sending the quilt to your favourite longarmer!
I love making this pattern with striking colours, the first version of this I made using Reel Time by Zen Chic with the wonderful greens, blacks (and yes, ORANGE!)
This version of the revised pattern I have used Sweetwater’s Mama Said Sew 2 – strong reds, greys and blacks
Double batting gives it some extra padding for use as a wall hanging, as you can see the original hangs in my longarm studio, the Quilt Barn Attic.
And to go with the Dream Big theme, I quilted it with big fluffy clouds…. nothing like daydreaming your next big dream staring up at wafting clouds!
