It is time to SEW! There really is nothing better than sitting down at the sewing machine, with things already prepared and you can just sew. Bliss!
This week’s video shows two methods for the sewing of the trees… both work and will allow you to trim your tree to the final size… it just depends on which one is easier for you or makes more sense for you !
I have sewn using both methods in the video and in the end I did do the slightly offset method.
The trees just look so pretty!
I decided to press the middle seam between tree and trunk open instead of to one side. It is a little more fiddly and time consuming, but make a nice flat block which will help when it comes time to quilt!
And here are all my trees sewn up ready for week 4 to be sewn up into the wallhanging top.
Next week (week 3 of the quilt along) is being hosted by Raylee from Sunflower Stitcheries and Quilting and she will be sharing with you some wonderful embellishments for your trees….. she is an embroidery whiz, so don’t forget to sign up with her to receive the email and downloadable PDFs next week for all the embroidery details!
