I really did not ever think I would be sitting here writing about the EPP quilt I have started!!! I mean, I have never enjoyed english paper piecing AT ALL…. and here I am starting a whole quilt?!?! Who am I and what has happened to Anne?
It all started when I had to do three blocks for the Boho Heart Quilt Along of EPP hexagons… and for some reason it finally just clicked! I sewed them whilst I was sitting on the couch with my husband, sewed them whilst on the train going to a dentist appointment (and there would have been a time when it was a toss up between which I dreaded more… the dentist or EPP!)
And I loved it! Colour me very surprised! I created this cute little travelling EPP kit with my Aurifil 80 wt thread, some gorgeous sharp scissors AND the new Tula Pink Sewtite heart shaped magnets
But I am so thankful of the timing of my newly found interest, as I have spent more than my fair share of time on the couch (and ER departments) this month so it has been wonderful to have something to keep me entertained when I can’t do much else.
And my friend Sharon from Lilabellelane Creations has this stunning EPP pattern called Prudence that just started calling my name…. and so it has been delivered to my home with all the papers and templates and a fussy cutting window and mirror and lots of glue pen refills…. I am all set!!
And I have started fussy cutting my Tula stash for the blocks! Here is the first block
I have watched Sharon do her amazing fussy cutting for years now and, whilst mine isn’t perfect, it is very addictive and I am looking at my Tula stash with new eyes!
Block 2 and I have started to try and find cool patterns for those centre 4 pieces!
I am thrilled with my third block! Can’t wait to get a chance to fussy cut some more blocks up so I can sit on the couch and have these blocks come to life in my hands.
Are you an EPPer? What quilts have you made ?
