Wow… where are the days going?!? Week 3 is upon us already and we are off to Dresden!
Dresden plate blocks that is…. oh how we all wish we could actually travel to Dresden… or pretty much anywhere! : )
I haven’t done many dresden blocks in my quilting life… but I really enjoyed these!
The first is the Dresden Fan and it just gets us into the groove of how to make the blades.
The Framed Dresden Plate teaches us how to get all the blades sewn together and sitting flat! (or not!!)
I love my centred Dresden Square….. all the beautiful colours of the Alison Glass rainbow! I have decided that this block is going to be front and centre of my quilt : )
And I totally cheated with my offset square dresden!! The Art Theory fabric I am using for my quilt has this awesome large circle design and the rainbow star is the ‘centre’. I am going to quilt this so it looks like a dresden plate block when I get it on Lily the Longarm!
