I have been in Adelaide for the past two weeks helping out after my mum had her knee reconstruction – it hasn’t been much fun for her!
But I have managed to set up a small sewing space so I could sew a little bit in between helping out.
Its a bit of a squeeze (and I have hit my knee on the desk many times turning to press something), but it has been great being able to still sew!
I decided it was time to get my Kate Spain Canyon jelly roll out and make one of my Jelly Roll Patch quilts!
I just love the colours of Canyon and couldn’t wait to see it with the grey background as a Jelly Roll Patch!
I cleaned off the kitchen counter and did some cutting. A bit squeezy!
To my mum’s shock, I had the quilt top and back done in less than 3 days!

And then I got out a WIP I had started at the Penola Patchwork Party, a no-cut block that I saw Lindsay from Happy Hour Stitches show on her youtube channel. It takes a layer cake and charm pack – I used Daysail by Bonnie & Camille.
It is a fun, quick block that is a great beginner project or an easy sewing project when you don’t want to have to concentrate too much! Somehow I am one block short, so this will have to wait until I get back home to find a little bit more fabric!
Then onto my third project! Sweetwater had a fun block in one of the Project Sweetewater boxes using 2.5″ x 4.5″ rectangles (my new favourite potato chip blocks) and I am almost through putting them all together!
Not sure I will get much more done before I leave at the end of next week, but it has been a bit of a lifesaver having sewing time.
