Stitch Pink Fabric Organisation

By September 29, 2020October 5th, 2020blog, Stitch Pink

Well we are only days away from starting our Stitch Pink sewalong with Moda Fabrics and so many of you wonderful quilters!

If you want to join in, sign up here and you will receive an email every day during October with the block instructions and my tips for making each block.

I always like to organise things before a sewalong so that I can get my head around what I need to do and keep myself on track as I go along.

For this sew along I used 20 Fat Quarters of fabrics ranging from very pale pink to very deep reds…… (all from the Just Red fabric line by Zen Chic for Moda) so I grouped them and hung them in my craft room so I could pick from a particular colourway easily as I was starting to cut the blocks out.

I can’t even being to tell you how much joy seeing these beautiful bright colours hanging in my craft room made me! I spent quite a bit of time just standing there and smiling!

If you are working with your stash you might actually have even more variety in the colours…. they will look fabulous, don’t worry!

And as I love a good label….. I printed out some labels to go with my colours.

And as I started to make blocks I realised I needed to be labelling the finished blocks so that I can remember which one is which to tell you about! So yes, more labels!

If you are a labeller like me, I have created a PDF full of the labels for each colour (yes, yours will probably differ), numbers (yes, I numbered each of my fabrics so I could work out which fabric I was using for which block!) and of course the block names.

I hope you are starting to get your fabric selected and that these labels will help you get organised so you can get going on the first block this Thursday! Woohoo!
