I can’t resist making up one of my Jelly Roll Patch patterns with a new fabric line when it comes out.
This time it was The Good Life by Bonnie & Camille 🙂 I really love this line and I bought lots of the grey background fabric this time! I hate never having enough background (and having something other than white or cream is a nice change!).
This is also the pattern I use to teach my Beginner’s Quilting class in the Quilt Barn – a two day fun weekend making up the quilt front and back 🙂 I am holding another Jelly Roll Patch class on the 29th and 30th September.
The weather has turned very cold and misty here, so an indoor photo shoot was the only way this one was getting photographed! Our sunroom (wishful thinking at the moment!) with fairy lights 🙂
The Jelly Roll Patch pattern comes in three sizes, but the smallest size is a great throw / slothing on the couch size and it uses EVERY.SINGLE.PIECE of a Jelly Roll 🙂 No waste! My favourite type of quilts 🙂
And yes, it is double sided – because why have one side of your quilts that is less interesting than the front? Make them gorgeous on both sides… when you are bored with one side, flip it over and you have an almost brand new quilt to drool over!
And this was free motion quilted on the Sew Inn Bernina Q24 long arm quilting machine – my very first attempt at long arm quilting! It was a bundle of fun 🙂
This quilt is one of the quilts I have managed to finish for my second quarter Finishalong #2018FAL #2018FALSWL
I always am inspired by your double sided quilts and it’s fabulous the pattern uses up the full jelly roll with no waste!
Thanks Yvonne! It takes the stress away from ‘what do I do with these left overs?!’ 🙂
Congratulations on a wonderful finish and, on behalf of the 2018 FAL hosts, thank you for playing along!
