As soon as I saw the Corey Yoder Buttercup and Slate fabrics, I wanted to make another of my Zippy Project Bags!
That hexie print is just so cute…. I had to use that as the main body of my zippy project pouch, with the stripe print above it and the two low volume prints for the interior lining and that cheery yellow floral print for the back! Click here to view all the Buttercup and Slate fabrics.
The hexie cheater fabric just needed some machine straight line quilting around each hexie to make it look even more fabulous!
I upsized my standard Zippy Project Bag pattern to be larger so it fits 12 1/2″ blocks easily.
The interior lining fabrics are the two low volume fabrics we got from the Buttercup and Slate collection.
I also added a handle to make it easier to carry and hang this larger project bag. I used the gorgeous yellow flower print for the back of the bag.
And to cover where I sewed the handles onto the back, I used two of the hexies cut out from the cheater panel to make it look pretty!
I am really happy with this XL version of my Zippy Project Bag – and can’t wait to use it to store blocks in progress for an upcoming quilt!
This was the first project I finished in the WIP Along 2022 – click here to find out about the sewalong and how to join.
