Cherry Tree Lane Quilt

By August 31, 2017blog

There is finally some sunshine today after a very long and cold winter so I rushed outside to take some pics of my Cherry Tree Lane Quilt.

We have had this quilt on our bed for most of winter and it has been a lovely sunny quilt to look at during the dreariness of grey skies and sleet!

Today it was so tempting to grab the quilt and go and have a picnic under a tree by the pond… but it is still thick jumper and gumboot weather despite the sunshine!

Our front yard daffodils are *almost* coming out…. it will be stunning when they all come out!

It won’t be long now and all the trees will start to get their leaves again.

The Cherry Tree Lane Quilt pattern is by Samantha ( @aqua_paisley ) and it is a great Jelly Roll pattern. You can get the pattern here from Samantha’s payhip shop.

I used two jelly rolls (Chestnut Street and Strawberry Fields Revisited) to make it extra sized and I made the sashing the same size as the lattice through each block. There are so many looks you can make with this pattern depending on how your orient the triangles.

Take a look at #cherrytreelanequilt on Instagram to see all the different people’s takes on the pattern.

I am thinking I might make another one (maybe just one jelly roll) from The Good Life when it arrives. So many beautiful patterns and so much gorgeous fabric and never enough time!

Don’t forget it is International Sew a Jelly Roll Day on September 16th – I am hosting a get together to sew up your favourite jelly roll pattern and there are still some places left!
