Boho Heart QAL – Week 7

We are continuing to apply ourselves for this week! More applique and some English Paper Piecing thrown in for good measure!

I am loving seeing the blocks that people are doing with needleturn applique…. it really does look soooo good!

My blocks are done with raw edge machine applique just so I could get them done in a timely manner!

Mini Hearts and Mini Circles (and yes, it is actually week 7… but I had created these images when I had missed week 7 completely oops!!)

And then we are onto the English Paper Pieced blocks (EPP)….. these were the ones I was DREADING! But I finally got EPP! It wasn’t hard, it didn’t take forever (well, it does take time, but not horrendous amounts of it!).

I used the epp iron ons from Helen Stubbings store, Quarter Inch Tas ( https://quarterinch.wequilt.com.au/ ) you actually iron the hexagon shape to the back of your fabric. Sew as per a normal EPP and then you LEAVE THE PAPER IN! When you first wash your project they will mostly dissolve into natural fibres! Soooo much easier!

What tricks do you have for doing EPP? I am embarking on a full quilt of EPP and would love to hear any tips you have!
