This month’s Charm Collective quilt, the Charm Framed Quilt, is a little more complex and uses not only charms, but my next favourite pre-cut, a jelly roll
I love that this pattern will look completely different depending on whether you focus on the charm or the frame and also which part of the frame! The secondary patterns are lots of fun 🙂
I used Ombre Confetti by V&Co and I am just IN LOVE with this range! Pretty much everything I have seen made out of this looks awesome! Can’t wait for the Ombre Bloom to come out later this year!
I kept my quilting to a bare minimum for this quilt, just lots of stitch in the ditch to accentuate the frames and a bit of echoing for the secondary cross patterns.
And I loved selecting charms (and even doing a little bit of fussy cutting from my stash) for the centre blocks
The backing I used is Moda Bella Charcoal and a couple of the jelly roll strips that were left (and the rest were used in the scrappy binding!). FYI you don’t need to add the strips to the backing and the pattern does not have those instructions, I was just having a bit of fun with my backing!
Annnnd I couldn’t resist and used rainbow thread on the backing just to give the dark backing a bit of a lift!
The Charm Framed Quilt pattern is now available for purchase as a PDF download pattern in my shop
Or you can sign up for the whole year’s Charm Collective pattern series (we will send you those patterns that have already been released right now and then each first Thursday of the month)
