Circle of Peace Finished Quilt

By July 4, 2026blog

Well this one was started way back in August last year as part of the Circle of Peace Sewalong (pretty happy I managed to get it finished in under a year!!) you can read all about the start on this blog post.

Fun, cute sewing pun fabric for the centre of the log cabins and pretty, pretty fabric for the log cabins. (Sophie by Brenda Riddle Designs)

This was just a joy to make each of the blocks. It really was a way to grab some moments of peace and joy amongst a world that was going (and still is!) mad.

Around Christmas I managed to have all the blocks sewn up and it was time to work out the sashing (with cute little 9 patch cornerstones!) and where each of the blocks was going to go.

Then it sat there. I picked out the backing around March. Then more sitting. Quilting hasn’t been able to get to the top of my priority list for quite some time sadly!

Then FINALLY this week it was time to pop this baby up onto Lily the Longarm and get it quilted!

I chose the digital design Marmalade which has some lovely swirls. The light as I took it off the longarm was just perfect for showcasing the quilting!

It has now been bound and is awaiting its photo shoot – but as we have had cold, windy and rainy weather here for the whole week, that will have to wait a bit. We need the rain, so quilt holds will be on hold for a bit!
