Today is such an exciting day! The Great Australian Quilts magazine Issue 14 (published by Universal Media Co who also publishes Quilter’s Companion magazine) has been released and I have a quilt in it! Woohoo! This is my first in-print published pattern!
This magazine is put out once a year with fun patterns in it, and this year my Bathing Box quilt is project number 2!
This is such an iconic Aussie pattern to make and will be fabulous for use as a beach quilt, picnic quilt, or any time you are out and about having fun outdoors!
The bathing boxes along the Brighton foreshore in Melbourne were my inspiration for this quilt…. there is one bathing box that is painted as the Australian flag that I have always loved (and funnily enough, so do all the tourists lining up to have their photos taken in front of the box!)
I had to wait in a queue to get a photo of the quilt in front of that particular bathing box earlier this year!
It was worth the wait though!

And did you notice the quilting I used on the Bathing Box quilt? Thongs!!! (or for the non-aussies reading this, flip flops!)
It was just perfect…. and I laugh every time I see it.
