Handmade Heart a Day in February

By February 1, 2023blog

Welcome to February everyone! We here at Said With Love have had a pretty good January (my arm is out of plaster yay!) and so we are looking forward to February : )

Moda is having a Handmade Heart A Day during February this year, where they are encouraging us to do some making each day…. maybe with fabric or with yarn or thread or even felt! Or maybe you want to bake some heart cookies?

And then to share the love with lots of people. Not just your significant other, but friends, family, shop owners, the postie… you name it!

Use the hashtag #HandmadeHeartADay to spread the love on social media too.

These cute heart valentines / book marks / postcards are fun and easy to make and there is a great pattern you can download for free here.

Our niece makes these beautiful little felt hearts – she gave them to us during COVID when we couldn’t see each other for so long. They are lovely and tactile. These are the two hearts she gave her grandma and grandpa who have now both passed away. We treasure them.

Hearts don’t need to be pink to be special and loved!

Moda has also released a fun way to extend your Moda Love Star big block we made last month too! With hearts all around!

Doesn’t this look gorgeous?! And if pink isn’t your thing… here it is in gorgeous blues.

You can download the free pattern to make the hearts and extend your Moda Love Star block. Note that the fabric requirements to extend your already-made Moda Love Star is only one more charm pack plus extra background!

You can go back to the blog post that has the link for the Moda Love Star too for all that information.

I love this idea and might be changing my plans for my Moda Love Star from last month – I do have some extra yardage of Little Miss Sunshine, so I will be seeing if I can fit this into my schedule during February!

I hope you can make a few hearts during the month and that they brighten up your day and perhaps someone else’s day too!
