This week is the HST (half square triangle) present block.
The HST present is a great opportunity to use some high contrast prints from your fabrics. Just remember if you have directional prints you need to be a bit more careful with the cutting… or cut extras so you don’t have a very obvious upside down stocking or santa!
In the end I didn’t fuss too much about the odd upside items or two. After last week and trying to get them all going the correct way I realised I just had to let it go!! Finished is better than perfect….
For those who have joined us on Instagram and are part of our DM (direct message) groups, I have been also giving the dimensions for half sized blocks which I am creating as mug rugs.
The half sized block makes for some pretty small HSTs! So be warned if you are following along with those dimensions that you will be doing some fiddly sized pieces!
