Heartfelt Quilt Kit Finish

By August 16, 2024blog

I have had a burst of productivity on my Works In Progress (WIPs) lately…. I really have way too many projects that are sitting in tubs that NEED to be finished and then either loved or given away.

So much so, that I have moved all of my WIP tubs from my craft room into our guest bedroom (too bad if someone wants to come and stay!!) so that my craft room feels so much cleaner and I have space to move, make, create and finish things!

The Heartfelt Quilt Kit that I purchased from Fat Quarter Shop in 2022 was just so pretty and I couldn’t resist getting the boxed kit sent to me.

I started cutting it out literally the day before I broke my wrist (for the first time) in late 2022 and had made great progress but then spent almost 14 weeks in plaster because of the second break straight away.

So it was many months before I could start getting to the sewing! And then FINALLY I was able to start putting all the blocks together…

Lots of blocks started to make their appearance

We were on holidays when I finally had all the blocks completed, so I laid them out the ‘design lawn’!

The gentle breeze kept moving the blocks for me, so I don’t recommend using the lawn too often!

The quilt has a pieced back which I had also purchased and I haven’t yet take a good picture of the back of the quilt, so I have popped the Fat Quarter Shop’s picture. You know how I love a double sided quilt!

So finally I put the quilt up on Lily the Longarm and voila…. one finished, bound and beautiful quilt!

I used the digital quilting pattern called Rainbow Hearts which looks lovely and I am so pleased with it!

So, one WIP completed … it has given me a boost now to get on and complete more!
