Icy Poles Sew Along – Week 3

By August 15, 2018blog, Icy Poles Sew Along

Welcome to week 3 of our #icypolessal of Elizabeth Hartman patterns Penguin Party and North Stars!

For more information about the sew along and to see previous blog posts, have a read of the Icy Poles Sew Along page 🙂

I have managed to finish up two penguin blocks this week….. the two boys from the Valentine family!

Meet Mason Valentine

and Happy Valentine

The Story of the Valentine boys

Tim and Dottie’s first boy was such a blessing for them…. Dottie’s organisational business was going really well and Tim had joined her in the business. She just couldn’t resist calling her first child Mason after her favourite storage jar!

Mason was teased quite a bit about his name by the kids at school but he actually loves Mason jars – he keeps his collection of rocks and sea glass in them!

His baby brother was born just a couple of years after him and he came out laughing! Dottie and Tim couldn’t think of any other name apart from Happy.

Poor Happy gets quite a LOT of stick about the movie Happy Feet… but he takes it all good naturedly (and with a laugh)… well, except for the fact he REFUSES to learn how to dance. EVER! But he smiles all the time and has taken to wearing these positive affirmation t-shirts everywhere. He loves that they make people smile back too 🙂

Tim and Dottie are talking about a third child, but their business is keeping them very busy. But Valentine’s Day is coming up soon and whilst a lot of people thing it is a cliche, Valentine’s day is their favourite day of the year. A whole day not only celebrating love, but celebrating their entire family! That just might have an addition next year….

Next week: meet the Fernhill family
