Welcome back for month 3 of the Barn Star Sampler Quilt Along that I am doing in conjunction with the Fat Quarter Shop and a great group of bloggers.
{Please note there may be affiliate links in this blog – I get a small amount from FQS, your price is no different. This helps me to continue doing these sewalongs with you!}
Month 3 is the Carpenter’s Star block and is a fun block, that isn’t as hard as month 1!
Shelley Cavanna (author of the Barn Star Sampler book) has used these lovely teal and pop of green in her block for the cover quilt.
I have chosen purples and deep pink with a pop of bright pink for my Block 3 A – those purple dandelion hedgehogs just get me every time!
This month’s block includes Quarter Square Triangle blocks and I have included lots of tips in this month’s video on how you can make these three different ways!
For the Quarter Square Triangles done my way, start with 7.5″ squares and trim to the final size when you have your quarter square triangle block.
The Fat Quarter Shop’s foundation paper piecing papers for the square in a square I have found to be a really accurate way of making these!
And come back on the last Friday of the month where you will see my reveal of my two blocks for this month!
