Well 2025 didn’t quite go as anyone planned or thought it would go, however amongst all the global upheaval, I did manage to get a few sewing things finished (and hopefully still sneak a few more WIPs finished before the 31st December!!) and I wanted to share the finishes with you!
As always, when I sit down and actually count up the things I have made and created this year, I am pleasantly surprised!
Quilts: 13 !
Project Bags / bags : 10
Cushions / Other items: 5
And there are 2 quilt tops sitting upstairs waiting to be quilted and I REALLY want to get them finished before Dec 31st!
Quilts
Quilt 1 : Confection Batiks wallhanging which I have hanging in our sunroom above the comfiest chair with the best view out to our rhododendrons and our bird bath!

Quilt 2 : Ambleside Shortcake quilt which is now our guest bedroom quilt and it looks so good on the old iron bed!

Quilt 3 : Moon Diamond was not only a quilt, but a sewalong with Make Modern Magazine!
Quilt 4 : Moon Diamond using Moon Garden by Tula Pink was the second quilt I made for the Moon Diamond sewalong.
Quilt 5 : Country BOM was my longest work in progress EVER! I was sooooo glad when this one was finished!

Quilt 6 : One Star Quilt from the book Not Your Typical Jelly Roll Quilt book (it is actually called 5 Star Experience in the book, but I only made one star!). Great book and I also have a WIP still to quilt from this book.
Quilt 7 : Felix Bird Quilt was a labour of love for my great-nephew’s 10th birthday! He loves birds, so this one has birds everywhere!
Quilt 8 : Fairy Dust Ombre version of A Side of Hearts. I fell in love with this fabric and just had to make the A Side of Hearts pattern using it. And wow, I haven’t blogged about that one!
Quilt 9 : Potato Chip quilt was a fun one I started at quilt retreat with Raylee and it has been finished, quilted but I forgot to blog about it! These potato chip blocks are very, very addictive.
Quilt 10 : Nantucket Summer double sided quilt. One side has Hideaway pattern the other side is Patchwork Swoon (both patterns by Camille Roskelley). Photo shoot of the finished quilt is coming soon as will a blog post!

11. A Year Of Hearts – Heart Layout. There just HAD to be a heart layout for these blocks! The pattern for this layout is now available!
This was on my WIP challenge list, so very happy I managed to get this one done!
12. Christmas Applique Quilt – I purchased the almost finished quilt top at a guild meeting during the year and finally got all the last bits of applique and borders on and managed to get it quilted AND bound two days before the end of the year!
13. Charm Framed – farm version. I started this one ages ago and it got put aside for many reasons. Finally got it quilted and bound with a few hours to spare before the end of the year!
Bags and Project Bags
Project bags were very popular with me this year (somewhere to put all my WIPs and want-to-make projects!
This one made from the Nantucket Summer cheater fabric is just gorgeous!
Next up were 8 project bags from the Lori Holt panel – I loved making these!
Cushions and Other Items
There were some fun smaller projects this year, including the Cat Placemats! Such a fun video and low priced template pattern
And this cute wrist rest filled with wheat and a little bit of lavender also has a short tutorial video.
My test block for the Edelweiss sewalong I made into a cushion which I gave my niece to match the Edelweiss quilt I gave her for Xmas last year!
Another make from the Not Your Typical Jelly Roll Quilts book is a single block from the I Heart Rainbows pattern. It was perfect as a cushion on the pew that is in our long hallway!
WIPs still to go
There are two more quilt tops that I had hoped to quilt before the end of the year, but I ran out of year!
Sunsets – the backing needs to be made, and I need to unpick a couple of blocks as I sewed them around the wrong way!
This was on my 2025 WIP challenge list, so it will be added to my 2026 one.
Neighbourly from the Not Your Typical Jelly Roll Quilt book – I have quite a few bonus HSTs left and other scraps left over that I want to sew together to put on the back. So a little bit of work before it can get quilted!
It really does add up! Going through them all takes me to the fun times sewing them, at retreats, with friends on sew days, by myself in my sewing room with some good tunes blaring!
I better get going on making some of those backings so I can get some more finishes before the end of the year!
